Electoral law | On 12 March 2004, the Political Party Law of 2000 was reformed to include a quota for women. Article 31 of the law specifies that for the list PR elections, whereby 56 deputies are elected, political parties must include 50 percent women on candidate lists. For the majority portion of the election, whereby 243 representatives are elected in single member districts, political parties are recommended to include 30 percent women candidates. |
